Joseph P. Matoney CPA, Ph.D. Founder, Matoney Tax & Financial

Joe has provided tax and financial advice since the late 1970s and founded Matoney Tax & Financial to deliver integrated, tax-aware planning. A CPA since 1976 and holder of a PhD in accounting from Penn State University, he is licensed in multiple states and holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 52 registrations. Joe taught accounting and tax at the University of Rhode Island for more than 40 years (1973–2016) and has advised clients in many states across the U.S. He enjoys spending time at the office with his son Dan and visiting with longtime clients and friends. Outside the office Joe golfs, runs daily (has completed 20 marathons) and enjoys family time with his two daughters, son, and grandchildren.
